Our Mission
To grow food via hydroponic urban farming technology, and allow more people to access healthy, fresh, locally grown produce.
The Challenge
Cities like Bend, Oregon are sought for their strong community feel, vibrant location, and opportunities to explore life’s possibilities.
Yet, too often there are limits to a steady and affordable supply of fresh produce options to support the growing local vibe and healthy culture.
Maintaining produce quality can often be a problem for grocers, and issues such as supply chain management & food waste are becoming more frequent.
Vertical Farming
A controlled environment where food is grown hydroponically in an indoor space, and volume is used for growing crops instead of a large area of land.
The growing environment never contains pesticides, conserves water by 90%, and produces healthier crops in less time than conventional farming.
We’ll be able to get fresh, healthy greens in more people’s hands.
The Benefits of Our Vertical Farms
YEAR ROUND ACCESS to fresh, local and nutritious greens, without the constraints of either a short growing season or expensive mechanized farming practices.
SMALL FOOTPRINT: We’ll be able to easily increase the number of locations within the community without taking up “too much space.”
MINIMIZED PRODUCTION COSTS and direct-to-consumer selling means that we can offer more affordable produce to more people.
DRASTICALLY REDUCED SUPPLY CHAIN, thanks to our locally grown produce being distributed within the city where it’s grown.
Project: The Giving Plate
helping a central Oregon food pantry grow fresh produce
The Vertical Farm at The Giving Plate is up and running! The Giving Plate (Central Oregon’s largest food pantry) is growing its own quality produce for its respected guests. After 8 months during the pandemic, we completed their Growing Room.
By creating a customized and innovative indoor farming system, we have enabled The Giving Plate to grow fresh greens on-site and year-round. You can read more about the project here.
We are now in the planning process to optimize and expand our garden to increase the yield.

We are beyond happy to have the support of the Bend community and our donors to help us bring this “first-of-its-kind” installation to life and grow even more food for The Giving Plate.
